All these principles were infused into P Mark’s culture by the late ShriDevidasPuriJi, the gentleman who set up an oil mill and a ﬂour mill at Moga, a small town in Punjab way back in 1933.In the pre-independent India, carrying out businesses was quite difficult but with continuous effort and fair business dealings, small family business did blossom. Because of the purity of the product produced, DevidasPuriJi managed to grow his family business. The products of the companies were sold in different locations of India including Lahore, Sialkot and Jammu Kashmir. The principles of the business were based on sound and ethical value systems.
During the 1943-44 food crisis, the flour business was put to a halt by the late Shri Devi Das PuriJi as he refused to accept the proﬁts that came from the sufferings of common people. Following the partition in 1947, P Mark’s edible oil became very popular across India. By 1980s, the green revolution had completely transformed the agriculture and as a result, India became self-sufficient in food products and it was then the PMark family had decided to revive the wheat ﬂour business.
